Firefighters and officers arrived at the house on Wildwood Place shortly after 6 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, Belmar police said. The home was fully engulfed in flames when first responders got there. Crews stayed at the scene for about three hours.

A Belmar firefighter and two people living in the home were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with minor injuries. According to a GoFundMe page, a woman named Frankiee and her daughter Jordyn were the two hospitalized after the fire.

The fundraiser said Frankiee was waking up while Jordyn was still asleep when the fire started. Frankiee tried to put out the fire, but had to escape with her daughter and neighbors called 911. The GoFundMe page had raised more than $20,000 from at least 236 donations as of Friday, Jan. 19.

The fundraiser was created for Tracy Ulias, who owned the house and is Frankiee's mother.

"If you know Tracy, you know she is one of the kindest most generous friends who is always first to help anyone," the GoFundMe page said. "She is a well-known member of the Belmar community. Please consider donating to help support them during this difficult transitional time. They all have lost everything."

One person who shared the GoFundMe page on Facebook spoke about what Ulias has meant to him.

"I use [sic] to work with Tracy Ulias at Brandl Restaurant," the Facebook post said. "She’s a really great person. Unfortunately, her house burned down and is in need of help. Send some love her way if you can."

Fire investigators from Monmouth County and Belmar are still working to find out what caused the fire.
